The GE Zoneline® AVVS24DCXWA Heat Pump Single Package Vertical Air Conditioner is a high-capacity, commercial HVAC solution engineered for hotels, resorts, extended-stay properties, senior living communities, multifamily developments, student housing, and other applications requiring discreet, room-by-room heating and cooling. With 22,400 BTU of rated cooling capacity and 21,500 BTU of rated heat-pump heating capacity, this 230/208V model provides approximately two tons of climate-control capacity within a compact vertical configuration.

Unlike conventional fixed-speed vertical units, the AVVS24DCXWA uses an inverter-driven variable-speed compressor. The system can modulate output according to changing room conditions, with GE citing benefits including shorter recovery times, improved efficiency, better sound quality, and enhanced dehumidification. Cooling output can modulate across a broad range rather than simply cycling the compressor on and off at full capacity.

Efficiency is another important component of the new platform. The AVVS24DCXWA carries a SEER2 rating of 16.0, while heat-pump performance is rated at 2.8 COP2 at 47°F. Reverse-cycle heating can provide between 5,000 and 23,000 BTU/h at 47°F, and GE's quick specifications identify heat-pump operation down to 0°F, expanding the range of conditions in which the unit can provide efficient heat-pump heating.

The AVVS24DCXWA uses R-454B refrigerant, part of GE's transition to lower-global-warming-potential refrigerants in its current HVAC platform. The unit also incorporates reverse-cycle defrost, helping maintain heat-pump performance during colder outdoor conditions.

For hotel operators and facilities teams, the AVVS24DCXWA incorporates onboard diagnostics and SmartHQ™ Wi-Fi readiness. With the appropriate subscription, SmartHQ Management can allow property teams to remotely monitor multiple connected units, receive operational information, and manage HVAC assets across a property.

Installation has also been redesigned around GE's Insta-Platform™ system, which incorporates a self-aligning lock-in-place design, self-contained drainage, Fast-Connect Plumbing, and a Quick-Install Plenum. GE states that the platform can reduce installation time by as much as 60%, an important consideration for large-scale hotel renovations and multi-room HVAC replacement projects.
